Indications
Cytotec is used in the prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers.
How It Works
Cytotec acts upon gastric parietal cells, preventing the secretion of gastric acid.
Dosage
Tablets (100 mcg, 200 mcg)

Precautions
Cytotec is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to ingredients in Cytotec, history of allergy to prostaglandins and women who are pregnant.
Speak to a doctor if you have the following conditions: Blood vessel disease, epilepsy (uncontrolled), or f you experience the following adverse reations within the first few weeks: diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and/or nausea.
Medicines similar to Misoprostol have been shown to cause convulsions (seizures), inflammatory bowel disease. Misoprostol may worsen diarrhea, which could lead to dehydration.
Do not give Cytotec to anyone else. It has been prescribed for your specific condition.
You should consult a doctor before using this medication if you are allergic to Misoprostol or similar medicines, or any of the other ingredients of Cytotec.
You can minimize possible diarrhea by making sure you take Cytotec with food.

Infrequent side effects may include: upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, bronchospasm, dyspnea, pneumonia, anxiety, change in appetite, nose hemorrhage, chest pain, edema, arrhythmia, phlebitis, increased cardiac enzymes, syncope, heart attack (some fatal), depression, drowsiness, dizziness, thirst, impotence, loss of libido, diaphoresis, hypotension, hypertension, anemia, a low palelete sweating increase, neuropathy, neurosis, confusion, joint pain, muscle pain, back pain, and muscle stiffness.
If any of these side effects become bothersome seek medical attention immediately.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. Overdose
