It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger in the brain which causes the feeling of nausea and vomiting, as well as increasing the movement and contractions of the stomach encouraging food to move through the stomach easier. Dosage Tablets (5 mg or 10 mg) For treatment of gastrointestinal disorders take 1 (10 mg) tablet three to four times daily. Some patients may require higher doses up to 2 tablets (20 mg) three or four times daily. For treatment of nausea and vomiting: 2 pills (20 mg) three to four times daily.
