Indications Strattera is indicated in the treatment of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, also known as ADHD. How It Works Strattera is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It causes an increase in the brain of levels of a hormone known as norepinephrine. Norepinephrine is very similar to its cousin adrenaline. Strattera is also known to indirectly elevate brain levels of dopamine. These minutely increased levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain are associated with alterations of mood and behavior and improvement of ADHD symptoms such as hyperactivity, impulsive behavior, and difficulty beginning and finishing a task. Dosage Available tablet sizes: 10 mg, 18 mg, 25 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg For Children and adolescents up to body weight of 70 kg: The initial dosage is typically 0.5 mg/kg a day.
