Indications Astelin is indicated in the treatment of the symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergies. How It Works Azelastine is an antihistamine that blocks the action of histamine, an inflammatory part of the immune system’s unnecessary response to seasonal allergens. Dosage Available nasal spray formats: 0.1%/10ml, 0.1%/22ml, 0.1%/5ml Available eye drop concentrations: 0.05% / 5ml The 0.1%/10ml format has a recommended dosage of one or two sprays (275 mcg) in each nostril twice daily. In children, adult dosage should be halved. Optivar eye drops have a recommended dosage of a single drop in each eye twice daily.
