How it works Nasacort AQ is a nasal spray that contains triamcinolone - an adrenocortical steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that causes inflammation. Dosage Adults: The recommended starting dose is 220 mcg per day - two sprays in each nostril once daily. This dosage should be adjusted once to the minimum effective dosage, and once symptoms have been controlled, reduced to one spray in each nostril daily. Children: 110 mcg (one spray in each nostril daily) is the recommended dose for children. Do not use Nasacort AQ in a child under 2 years old without the advice of a doctor. Some brands of triamcinolone nasal are not made for use in children. Do not use Nasacort AQ if you are allergic to triamcinolone.
