How It Works Levofloxacin is an antibiotic part of the class of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones. Levofloxacin fights bacteria in the body by disrupting bacteria’s ability to reproduce. These medicines and supplements can make Levaquin much less effective if taken around the same time.
