How It Works Venlafaxine is a potent SSRI or synapse serotonin re-uptake inhibitor. Essentially SSRIs operate in the neural exchanges of the brain, preventing serotonin levels from dropping during synaptic exchange. This in turn affects mood. Venlafaxine is a psychotropic drug that is used as an antidepressant. Dosage Tablets (37 mg, 75 mg , 150 mg ) Most patients should begin with a single 75mg dose per day, this medication is dose dependent.
