Eurax, crotamitonChemical NamesCrotamiton Ingredients Active Ingredients: crotamiton Non-Active Ingredients: carbomer-934, cetyl alcohol, diazolidinylurea, dimethicone, fragrance, laureth-23, magnesium aluminum silicate, magnesium nitrate, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, petrolatum, propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, steareth-2, and water. In addition, the cream contains glyceryl stearate. Indications Eurax is indicated in the treatment of scabies and for the symptomatic treatment of pruritic skin. How It Works Crotamiton is a scabicide, used to treat scabies and to reduce itching associated with certain conditions. Eurax cream may also be used to treat conditions other then the ones listed here. Dosage Oral Tablets (10% 20 mg) For the treatment of scabies massage into the skin of the whole body from the face down. A second application is advisable after 24 hours. All clothing and bedding should be changed and washed in hot water. A bath should be taken 48 hours after the last application of Eurax. For Pruritus, massage gently into all affected areas until medication is absorbed. Repeat as needed. Precautions Consult a doctor before taking Eurax if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Eurax should not be applied in or near the eyes, mouth, vagina, or anus because it may cause irritation. It should not be applied to swollen or broken skin until swelling has subsided. Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.

This drug has no known drug interactions, if allergic reaction occurs consult with a medical professional. Adverse/Side Effects Serious side effects are not likely to occur. Stop using Crotamiton topical and seek medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction such as: shortness of breath, tightening throat, swelling of your lips, face, or tongue, or hives. A mild itching, burning, or stinging may occur immediately after application, this is normal. Notify your doctor if your condition worsens or if unusual itching, redness, swelling, burning, or a rash occurs. Overdose Symptoms of overdose include irritation/burning feeling in the mouth, persistent nausea/vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If swallowing or overdose is suspected, contact your poison control center or emergency room immediately. Storage Instructions Store at room temperature, away from moisture and light, and keep out of reach of children and pets. |
