Stromectol, ivermectinChemical NameIvermectin Ingredients Active Ingredients: Ivermectin Non-Active Ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, magnesium stearate, butylated hydroxyanisole, and citric acid powder (anhydrous). Indications Stromectol is used to treat roundworm. Roundworm causes intestinal strongyloidiasis. Symptoms include abdominal pain and diarrhea, as well as rashes on the waist and buttocks. How It Works Stromectol is classified as a broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent. It works by killing adult ringworms in gastrointestinal system. Dosage Tablets ( 3mg, EU 3mg, EU 6mg, EU 12mg) The recommended initial dose of Stromectol is dependent upon body weight. The 3mg tablets should be taken in the following way: 15-24kg - 1 tablet 25-35kg - 2 tablets 36-50kg - 3 tablets 51-65kg - 4 tablets 66-79kg - 5 tablets More than 80kg - 200 mcg/kg Precautions Stromectol is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to ingredients in Stromectol. Patients who have an existing hyperreactive onchodermatitis may have a greater likelihood of experiencing adverse reactions. If also infected with Loa loa, some patients may develop encephalopathy. Patients who fall under this category may also experience neck pain, red eye, urinary of fecal incontinence, lack of energy, dizziness, seizures, or coma. This medicine may cause harm to an unborn baby. Before taking Stromectol, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Stromectol passes into breast milk and may cause harm to a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or are breast-feeding a baby. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
