Indications Pyridium is used to treat symptoms like bladder control issues, burning and pain that stem from irritation, damage or trauma to the lower urinary tract mucosa whether caused by infection or surgery. How It Works Pyridium is a topical anesthetic. It works by rapidly passing through the kidneys one ingested, with 65% of the dosage being unchanged and viable. The drug then has an analgesic effect on the urinary tract mucosa. The prices mechanism of action for this drug is unknown. Dosage Tablets (200 mg) The recommended initial dose of Pyridium is 1 tablet of 200 mg to be taken after meals, three times per day. If taken with an antibacterial agent, then it should not be taken for more than 2 days at a time.
