Non-Active Ingredients: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, croscarmellose sodium, poloxamer 188, silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.

Indications
Avapro is indicated in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), stroke, and renal complications of diabetes.

How It Works
Irbesartan is an angiotensin-II receptor antagonist (an angiotensin receptor blocker, or ARB) that blocks the hormone angiotensin. This causes blood vessels to relax and widen, which can lower blood pressure or alleviate kidney problems caused by blood vessel constriction.

Dosage
Available tablet sizes: 150 mg, 300 mg

The recommended dosage of Avapro for treating hypertension is 150 mg once daily, though some patients may require 300 mg daily. For treating diabetic nephropathy, 300 mg once daily is standard.
 
 
Precautions
This drug can cause serious fetal harm if used during the last six months of pregnancy. Drug Interactions

Common side effects include: Diarrhea; dizziness; tiredness.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these Severes side effects occur when using Avapro: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the hands, eyes, mouth, face, lips, or tongue; hoarseness); change in the amount of urine produced; chest pain; dark urine; difficulty swallowing; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; muscle pain or cramps; severe or persistent stomach pain (with or without nausea or vomiting); severe or persistent tiredness; symptoms of low blood pressure (eg, fainting, severe dizziness, lightheadedness); vision changes; yellowing of the skin or eyes, fainting, decreased sexual ability, change in the amount of urine, stomach or abdominal pain, nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, and fatigue.

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose include fast or slow heartbeat, severe dizziness and fainting. If you suspect overdose, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
