Minipress, prazosinChemical NamePrazosin Ingredients Active Ingredients: prazosin Non-Active Ingredients: Hard gelatin capsules (which may contain Blue 1, Red 3, Red 28, Red 40, and other inert ingredients); magnesium stearate; sodium lauryl sulfate; starch; sucrose. Indications Minipress is used to treat hypertension as a stand-alone therapy, or in conjunction with other antihypertensive medications. If taking diuretics, or beta blockers, speak to your physician to ascertain whether or not this medication is right for you. How It Works Minipress is a sympatholitic medication. It prevents the functions of postganglionic fibers in the sympathetic nervous system, the system which causes resources in the body to react to stress. Dosage Tablets (1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg) The recommended initial dose of Minipress is one 1 mg tablet taken daily. Dosages may be increased to a level of 20 mg per day, but a physician should monitor this progress, and should prescribe the recommended dosages.
