Indications Avandaryl is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. How It Works The drug is the combination of two medications that help control sugar levels in the blood. They work by reducing insulin resistance and stimulating insulin release. Together they help improve glycemic control. Dosage Tablets (2 mg rosiglitazone maleate /1 mg glimepiride) The recommended initial dose of Avandaryl is most often 4 mg/2 mg to be taken in one daily dose. Precautions Avandaryl is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to ingredients in Avandaryl, if you are on other diabetes medication, insulin or if you suffer from type 1 diabetes or if you have any heart problems. Speak to a doctor if you have the following conditions: a history of stroke or heart attack, congestive heart failure or any other kind of heart disease, liver disease, kidney problems or adrenal gland disorders or a history of eye problems resulting from diabetes.
