Indications Avandia is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. How It Works The type of drug this is diabetes medication It works by improving glycemic control in the body by increasing sensitivity to insulin and effectively reducing the impact of insulin resistance. Dosage Tablets (2 mg, 4 mg, 8 mg) The recommended initial dose of Avandia typically 4 mg/day to be taken either as one dose, or divided into two equal doses to be taken a different times during the day.
