Indications Dilantin is used to treat epilepsy and prevent seizures that occur after neurosurgery. How It Works Dilantin is an anticonvulsant. It works by limiting the conductivity of the medium through which signals are sent in the brain, thereby limiting the ability of hyperexited neurons to trigger and sustain seizures.
