Cyclospasmol, cyclandelateChemical Namescyclandelate Ingredients Active Ingredients: cyclandelate Non-Active Ingredients: N/A Indications Cyclandelate is indicated in the treatment of leg cramps, arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), Raynaud's phenomenon, and for the treatment of other conditions that involve poor blood flow in veins and arteries. This medication is also sometimes used for certain mental/memory disorders, to prevent migraines, to treat specific spells of dizziness and to treat diabetic nerve pain and tingling. How It Works Cyclandelate is part of a group of drugs called vasodilators. Cyclandelate relaxes veins and arteries, making them wider and allowing blood to pass through them easier. Dosage Cyclandelate is available in 200 mg or 400 mg tablets. Initial dosage is 1.2 to 1.6 grams a day. This is taken in divided doses throughout the day. The dose will then be gradually lowered to 400 mg to 800 mg per day.
Precautions It may take a little while for this medicine to take effect. If you don’t notice an effect or don’t know if the medicine is working, do not stop taking it on your own, consult with a doctor. The effects of this medicine may be decreased if you smoke. Dizziness may occur, particularly when you get up from a lying or sitting position or climb stairs. Getting up slowly is suggested. If this becomes a problem check with a doctor. If you have a history of angina (chest pain), bleeding problems, glaucoma, hardening of the arteries, heart attack (recent) or stroke (recent)—The chance of undesirable effects may be increased. You should talk to your doctor before taking Cyclopasmol.
