The blue, film-coated caplets are printed with edible white ink. Indications Valtrex is used to treat Herpes, cold sores, genital herpes, and is used for suppressive and initial therapy. How It Works Valtrex is an antiviral drug, it is also dose dependent. Once absorbed into the immune system it is converted into an amino acid which the body uses to fight infection. Dosage Tablets (500 mg, 1000 mg) Dosage is very dependent upon which stage of Herpes is to be treated and consulting with your physician is recommended.
