Tenvir L, lamivudine + tenofovirBrand NamesTenvir L Chemical Name Lamivudine + Tenofovir Ingredients Active Ingredients: Lamivudine + Tenofovir Non-Active Ingredients: Lamivudine: magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and sodium starch glycolate. Tenofovir: croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and pregelatinized starch. The tablets are coated with Opadry II Y–30–10671–A, which contains FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 2910, lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide, and triacetin. Indications Tenvir L is used to treat HIV-1 in adults. How It Works Lamivudine and Tenofovir work together to treat HIV-1 infection. This combination does not cure HIV, nor will it prevent the spread of HIV. Dosage Tablets (300mg, 300mg) The recommended initial dose of Tenvir L is one 300mg tablet each of lamivudine and tenofovir, one time per day. May be consumed with or without food. Adverse/Side Effects It is not uncommon for Tenvir L to cause the following minor side effects: headace, nausea, rash, and diarrhea. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare.
