How It Works The principle action of Lamivudine is its inhibition of HIV-1 RT via DNA chain termination after incorporation of the nucleosie analog. Tenofovir is an acyclic nucleoside phosphonate diester analog of adenoside monophosophate that inhibits HIV-1 activity by terminating DNA chin. Efavirenz is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Dosage Tablets (300 mg, 600 mg, 300 mg, lamivudine + efavirenz + tenofovir) The initial dosage of Trioday Cipla is one tablet, once a day. It is recommended that Trioday Tablets be taken on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime. Bedtime dosing may improve the tolerability of nervous system symptoms associated with Efavirenz. The increased Efavirenz concentrations observed following administration of Efavirenz with food may lead to an increase in the frequency of adverse even. This medicine may cause harm to an unborn baby. Before taking Trioday Cipla, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Trioday Cipla passes into breast milk and may cause harm to a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or breast-feeding a baby. You should consult a doctor before using this medication if you are allergic to Lamivudine and Efavirenz and Tenofovir or similar medicines, or any of the other ingredients of Trioday Cipla . Drug Interactions Consult a doctor before taking Trioday Cipla if you are taking Astemizole, Bepridil, Cisapride, Midazolam, Pimozide, Triazolam or ergot derivatives as competition for CYP3A4 by Efavirenz could result in the inhibition of the metabolism of these drugs and create the potential for serious and/or life-threatening adverse events (e.g. cardiac arrhythmias, prolonged sedation, or respiratory depression). This medication should not be administered concurrently with voriconazole as Efavirenz significantly decreases Voriconazole plasma concentrations. Adverse/Side Effects It is common that Trioday Cipla causes the following minor side effects: headache, fever, abdominal pain, back pain. Infrequent side effects may include Hematologic toxicity, including neutropenia anemia, lactic actosis, pancreatitis, depressive disorders, insomnia & other sleep disorders, skin rashes, musculoskeletal pain, and skin rashes.
