Indications Prograf is used to treat patients who have received organ transplants. It is an autoimmune suppressant that helps to prevent organ rejection. How It Works Prograf is an autoimmune suppressant. Dosage Tablets (0.5 mg, 1 mg, 5 mg, 10gm 0.10%) The recommended initial dose of Prograf is dependent upon the receptivity of the patient to the treatment. Dosages should be prescribed by a physician who is closely monitoring the patient. Precautions Prograf is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to ingredients in Prograf. At high doses, nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity have been observed in some patients. The symptoms may include tremor, headaches, and motor function changes. Some patients have experienced hyperkalemia and increased risk of lymphoma and various malignancies. When taking Prograf, a doctor should monitor the patient very closely to ensure the safety of the patient. This medicine may cause harm to an unborn baby.
