Zelnorm, tegaserodChemical Nametegaserod Ingredients Active Ingredients: tegaserod Non-Active Ingredients: crospovidone, glyceryl monostearate, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, poloxamer 188, and polyethylene glycol 4000. Indications Zelnorm is used to treat irritable bowel disease in women on a short-term basis. How It Works Zelnorm is a motility stimulant that can relieve abdominal pain. Dosage Tablets (2 mg, 6 mg) Take 6 mg of Zelnorm two times per day for four to six weeks. Zelnorm should be taken before meals. Precautions Zelnorm is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to ingredients in Zelnorm. This medication may cause serious diarrhea, hypotension, and syncope. Some patients have been hospitalized for rehydration purposes. If abdominal pain worsens, discontinue your usage of Zelnorm immediately. Consult your physician immediately if you experience worsening abdominal pain that is accompanied by rectal bleeding. This medicine will cause harm to an unborn baby.
