Indications Flavoxate is used to treat bladder symptoms such as frequent or urgent urination, increased night-time urination, bladder pain, and incontinence (urine leakage). These bladder symptoms are often be caused by overactive bladder, prostate enlargement, bladder infections, or irritation of the urethra. How It Works Flavoxate is a smooth muscle relaxant. It relaxes the muscles in the bladder. This medication will not treat the cause of your bladder symptoms such as Dosage Tablets (200 mg) Urispas is taken orally. The recommended dosage is one tablet (200 mg) taken 3-4 times a day or as your doctor prescribes. This should be taken with food. The dosage is based on your individual medical condition and may be adjusted based on individual response to the drug. Your doctor may lower your dosage if there is a noticeable improvement in your symptoms. Treatment length depends on the cause of the problem and how the patient reacts to treatment. Precautions Urispas is contraindicated in patients allergic to flavoxate, or with untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, a blockage the digestive tract (stomach or intestines), or if you are unable to urinate.
