The 150 mg tablets also have FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake. Indications Actonel is used to treat postmenopausal and gluccocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, osteoporosis in men and also Paget’s disease. How It Works Risedronate is part of a class of drug known as bisphosphonates. It works to slow bone loss and increase bone mass in order to prevent fractures by inhibiting osteoclasts, the cells which reabsorb bone tissue, from performing their function.
