Dapoxetine is indicated in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and depression.

How It Works
Dapoxetine, is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and a drug for the treatment of premature ejaculation. It is an antidepressant, normally used to treat depression and anxiety, but its anxiolytic and anhedonic properties have a strong profile of effect in preventing unwanted early sexual climax.

Dosage
Available tablet sizes: 60 mg

The recommended dosage is one tablet taken once daily, approximately 1 hour prior to sexual activity. Since the maximum recommended daily dosage is also one tablet daily, Priligy should not be used more than once per day. Precautions
Consult a doctor before taking Priligy if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, or if you have or have a history of liver disease, seizures, heart disease, suicidality, or thyroid disease.

A person should not take more than one dapoxetine dosage in 24 hours, in any case. And it is recommended that there should not be any alcohol intake while taking Priligy dosage.

Do not drink alcohol while on this medication. Patients may experience drowsiness; exercise caution while driving or operating heavy machinery when taking Priligy. Elderly patients may be more susceptible to its effects, especially drowsiness.

Drug Interactions
Consult a doctor before taking Priligy if you are also taking other medications, especially warfarin, digoxin, antiarrhythmics, beta blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, triptans, carbamazepine, cisapride, clozapine, cyclosporine, haloperidol, phenytoin, pimozide, theophylline, alcohol, diuretics, MAOIs, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, lithium, sibutramine, zolpidem, narcotics, tramadol, pethidine, meperidine, or dextromethorphan.

Adverse/Side Effects
Known side effects of SSRIs are: nausea, headache, diarrhea, dizziness, anhedonia, apathy, drowsiness, bruxism, strange dreams, urinary retention, changes in appetite or sleep, weight loss or gain, increased risk of bone fractures, renal impairment, suicidal ideation, photosensitivity, and paresthesia. If you experience any of these side effects, or if they persist or worsen, consult a doctor to see if you should discontinue taking Priligy.

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose include symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as headache, agitation, hypomania, confusion, hallucinations, shivering, sweating, hypertension, tachycardia, myoclonus, tremor, and coma.
