4. Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, Daivobet® (calcipotriol & betamethasone) can cause side effects.
Daivobet® may cause side effects such as:

- Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:
Common (affects less than 1 in 10 but more than 1 in 100 people): Pruritus (itching), skin rash and burning sensation of skin.

Uncommon (affects less than 1 in 100 but more than 1 in 1000 people): Skin irritation or pain, dermatitis, redness of the skin, worsening of your psoriasis, folliculitis (inflammation of the hair root) and changes in skin colour in the area you have used the ointment.

Rare (affects less than 1 in 1,000 but more than 1 in 10,000 people): Pustular psoriasis may occur (psoriasis with pustules).

Since it contains Calcipotriol the following may also be observed: other application site reactions, dry skin, eczema, photosensitivity and hypersensitivity reactions including in very rare cases (less than 1 in 10,000 people) angioedema and facial oedema. Very rarely it may cause the level of calcium in your blood or urine to increase.

Since it contains Betamethasone dipropionate, a potent corticosteroid, local reactions can occur especially during prolonged application, such as thinning of the skin, dilated blood vessels in the outer layer of the skin, stretch marks, excessive hair growth, swelling around the mouth, allergic contact dermatitis, lightening of skin colour and colloid milia (small shiny brown gel-filled bumps).

Systemic effects due to topical use of corticosteroids are rare, however they can be severe. Adrenocortical suppression, cataracts, infections and increase of intra-ocular pressure can occur, especially after long term treatment.
If you notice the above or any other side effects while taking this medicine, tell your doctor.
