Halog, halcinonideChemical NameHalcinonide Ingredients Active Ingredients: Halcinonide Non-Active Ingredients: Mineral oil and polyethylene gel base, polyethylene glycol 300, polyethylene glycol 400, polyethylene glycol 1450, and polyethylene glycol 6000 distearate with butylated hydroxytoluene as an antioxidant. Indications Halog is used to treat inflammatory and itchy skin conditions and Psoriasis. How It Works Halog prevents inflammation. Halcinonide belongs to the family of medications called topical corticosteroids. Its exact mechanism is unknown. Dosage Cream (10%, 15gm) Use a damp and clean cotton cloth to wash the affected area before application. Gently rub a small amount of the cream onto the affected area. The frequency of changing dressings is best determined on an individual basis. Precautions Halog is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to ingredients in Halog with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the preparations. Topical steroid medicines are known increase the glucose (sugar) levels in your blood or urine, so use with causation if you have diabetes. Haglog may cause hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression, a condition that affect the system that controls that controls reactions to stress and regulates many body processes, including digestion, the immune system, mood and emotions, sexuality, and energy storage. If HPA axis suppression occurs or a raise in body temperature occurs, the drug should be immediately withdrawn from the patient. Recovery of HPA axis function and thermal problems are generally quick and happen after discontinuation of the drug. Children may be prone to toxicity when taking Halog, especially since they can absorb proportionally larger amounts of topical corticosteroids. Tell your doctor before taking this medication if you have a bacterial, viral or fungal infection. This medicine may cause harm to an unborn baby.
